Right folks - some pictures from my summer visit to the Cavalry Museum in Saumur, hosted in one of the old building used for training French Cavalry - mostly images from Napoleonic times.
Worth an hour, not much more.
Some pictures of painted (mainly) historical wargames figures. The name is a pun, not a boast.
Great stuff! Another destination for my travels list.

DeleteA fasdcinating series called "The War Years" features interviews with veteran cadets of Saumur who held up the Germans for a week in 1940.

wow - great find
DeleteVery nice, sir! I was in Saumur last September myself, but unfortunately this little gem was closed at the time. For any other wargamers thinking of visiting that part of the world, I highly recommend the wargames hotel in Mayenne, L'Hotel de Herce. See the report of my stay there on the BBBBlog: https://bloodybigbattles.blogspot.com/2020/09/wargames-holiday-hotel-mayenne.html
